We present...ANDREY RUBLEV (RUS) !

Andrey Rublev is a professional tennis player from Russia, he was born on October 20, 1997 in Moscow, Russia.


           Andrey`s father is Andrey Rublev Sr., a former professional boxer, while his mother is Marina Marenko, tennis coach who worked with Anna Kournikova. He started playing tennis when he was 3. Outside tennis, Rublev practices boxing and basketball, he likes Mike Tyson. His favourite bands include Metallica, AC/DC and Nautilius Pompilius, and he likes action-packed films with fighting. He has victories over players like Fernando Verdasco, Grigor Dimitrov, David Goffin, Paolo Lorenzi. His coach is Fernando Vicente. Current prize money $1,271,103.

           Currently, Andrey is the youngest player in the ATP top 50! He as of September 11, 2017 had a career-high singles ranking of No. 37. He won the singles title at the 2017 Croatia Open in Umag.

Junior career


           Andrey debuted in Luxembourg at age 13, first win he gets on his second competition in Phoenix. In the following years, Rublev could climb the thirds rounds in, singlesand in December 2012 he won one of the top junior competitions, the Orange Bowl. Rublev won the 2014 French Open junior singles competition, defeating Jaume Munar (ESP) in the final. He won a bronze medal in singles and a silver in doubles at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing. In April 2015, Rublev finished junior career by wining the Inaugural ITF Junior Masters in Chengdu, China. Rublev won his final match against Taylor Fritz (USA) in three sets.

           Here are his results during 2017. : 


           First tournament for Andrey was Australian Open in Melbourne. He started well and passed qualies, and lost in R64 after won his match in R128 against Yen-Hsun LU (TPE). In R64, Andrey lost his match against Andy Murray (GBR) 3-6,0-6,2-6!

           After Australian Open, Andrey played in the final ATP Challenger in Rennes (FRA) where he lost his match against Uladzimir Ignatik (BLR) in three sets.

           After several defeats in first rounds in Dubai and Indian Wells, Andrey went to ATP challenger in Irving, TX and lost in SF against Aljaz Bedene (GBR) 6-1,6-7,2-6. After a few bad results in April and May, Andrey went on tournaments on the grass, he played QF in Halle and lost from his countryman, Karen Khachanov 6-7,6-4,3-6. On Wimbledon, Andrey passed qualies, won his match in R128 against Stefano Travaglia (ITA) 6-7,6-3,7-5,1-6,7-5 and lost in R64 match against Albert Ramos-Vinolas (ESP) in five sets (5-7,7-6,6-4,3-6,4-6).

          After Wimbledon, he goes to tournament on clay, ATP Croatia Open in Umag. He goes to main draw as Lucky losser, but he won his first ATP tournament. He won in a row matches against Carlos Berlocq (ARG) 6-2,6-4 , Andrej Martin (SVK) 7-6,7-5 , Fabio Fognini (ITA) 6-7,6-2,7-6, Ivan Dodig (CRO) 7-6,6-1. In the final, Andrey played with Paolo Lorenzi (ITA), and he won that match with 6-4,6-2. You can watch this match on this LINK.



         The biggest success Andrey made on US OPEN where he reached QUARTER-FINALS! He won in a row matches against Aljaz Bedene (GBR) 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) 7-5, 7-6, 6-3 ( His first win against TOP 10 player), Damir Dzumhur (BIH) 6-4, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, David Goffin (BEL) 7-5, 7-6, 6-3 and he lost in a great match in QF against Rafael Nadal 1-6,2-6,2-6. 
         
        After US OPEN, Andrey played in Davis Cup (WG-PO) match  against Marton Fucsovics (HUN) and he lost that match in five sets 2-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2, 3-6. In Chengdu Open, Andrey lost his match against Yen-Hsun LU (TPE) 2-6, 1-6.
