Aussie Open and injuries - it could have been worse

The injuries are an integral part of the sport, so there are no athletes who have not experienced some minor inmates, and later serious injuries.

In the world of sports, everything is done to avoid these misfortunes, but unfortunately, when the body is released, people are not machines, they are "blood and flesh".

Two weeks before the start of the Australian Open, there were many questions about who will take part in the first Grend of the season, and the most arguing about the tennis players and the players who paused last year.

Of course, it was primarily thought of Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic, Stan Wavrinka, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka ... but also Garbine Mugurusa, Johanna Konta, Rafael Nadal, who did not pause but dragged injuries.

All of them were questioned because they did not heal 100 percent of the injuries ... Everyone except Serena, who missed the majority last year due to pregnancy and later childbirth, as well as Azarenka who is out of the field due to private problems.

Ozzi open just did not start and we will not see all of these competitors who were unsure in Australia, Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

On the other hand, will be Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic, Sten Wawrinka and Rafael Nadal ...

When we look at how it might be, the conclusion is that Australia will suffer a lot in women's competition because it does not have Serena, while in men it could be worse.

Andy Murray - hip injury

Last year, Andy started as the best tennis player of the world, but within a year, his life turned 180 degrees.

Marie has a lot of problems with the hook and tried to solve it in a natural way, but how he failed to get 100 per cent of it he decided to miss the Australian Open and Roland Garros.

"Unfortunately I will not play in Australia this season, because I'm not able to compete. Thank you for all the congratulations of support and I hope that I will soon return to tennis courts, "wrote Andy in a statement.

As with Novak, Murray's last tournament was Wimbledon where in the quarter-finals he was defeated by American Sam Kvery.

It was then thought that it was nothing serious and that the Briton would be ready for the last Grend Slem in the season. However, before the start of the US, Marie canceled the participation and decided to pause by the end of the year.

At the beginning of 2018, he played one match at Abu Dhabi against Robert Bautista-Agut, and it was evident that he was badly moving and that he was not 50% of his capabilities.

Andy hoped to return to the tournament in Brisbane, but had to cancel 48 hours before the start of the tournament. Only a few days later came the confirmation that Murray would not be ready for Australia.

Murray then said that he would try without an operation to overcome the injury, but simply could not do it without it. Once the best tennis player of the world has been successfully operated and is expected to return to the grassland.

"I have not finished tennis yet, I will compete again at the highest level," said Murray.

Although he did not specify when he wants to return, his plan is obviously ready for Wimbledon.

"The plan is to return for the season on the grass, maybe even before, but I'm sure I will not be rushing. I want to know that I am ready when I return to the field," Andy said.

Now we need to wish him a quick recovery and even faster return to tennis courts.

Serena Williams - "I do not want to be just a participant"

After winning the 23rd Grand Slam title last year in Melbourne, Serena Williams learned that she was pregnant and because of the child she was wearing she decided not to perform in 2017.

The dream of every woman is to act as a mother, so Williams made a logical decision, but when we look from that sporty angle, women's tennis has lost much.

Serena has been alpha and omega for many years, and in terms of quality, she has always been, and ten places are empty, and some other tennis player.

We are talking about when 100 percent was ready and when motivation was the highest level. Some women's tennis was followed only for him because she is a true champion and one of the best who played this sport.

Of the four Grand Slams last season, we have four different winners ... First place nothing more means that you are the best because the girls are changing as a tape on it.

It was precisely because of these things that Serena's return was eagerly awaited, but we will have to wait for him a little more.

"My coach and the whole team always told me to go to the tournaments only when I'm sure I can go to the very end. I can compete, but I do not want to be just a participant, I want much better than that, so I need a bit more time, "Serena said at the beginning of this year.

After this statement, we came to the conclusion that we will see the new champion in the fourth consecutive Grand Prix, because just Serena defends the title.

"I will always remember the last year's tournament with me, and Olimpija and I are looking forward to returning to Melbourne. I appreciate the support and understanding of the fans and everyone else in the Australian Open," Serena added.

Kei Nishikori - wrist

The Japanese has been among the first to announce that he will not play at the first Grend Sleme in the season.

Just as the new year began, Nishikori told the public that due to a violation of the handicap, he would not be able to perform in Australia.

The 28-year-old tennis player is in the field since August due to problems with his wrist and how he said he is not ready to play five sets.

Last year, Nishikori played the eighth finals of the Ozi Open, and after Australia, they will regain even more on the ATP list.

According to him, the recovery is going well and we could look at it on the ground from February or March.

Nishikori, the 24th player of the world, triumphed three times in the Australian Open (2012, 2015, 2016), but he never made it to the end.

Victoria Azarenka - problem with child

The Belarusian woman has been fighting a great deal with her former guardian husband over their son.

Due to this problem, popular Vika missed a large part of the last season, and for that reason will not play in the Australian Open.

As reported, Azarenka "is not able to travel to Australia," and director Australian Open Craig Tilly hopes Belarus will next year participate in her favorite tournament.

The former world champion had never played since July and Wimbledon since she does not want to leave California until the case of guardianship over son Leo is resolved. The court ordered the boy to remain in California until the decision was made.

Vika was once one of the heroines of this sport as she opposed and defeated Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and other players.

Aussie open won in 2012 and 2013, played the Wimbledon Finals in the same year, but by 2014 she would not repeat similar results.

She fought with injuries, then returned briefly to the top, then got pregnant, gave birth to a baby, returned to playing, and now has problems with her former partner.

Vika is a great winner and we hope to solve her personal problems and return to where her place is.

When it comes to other absences, we will not watch the Serbian player Filip Krajinovic who gave up his injury to Achilles' tendon, and there will be no Belgian Steve Darcis on the tournament.

There is a much higher number of quits for the lady, so Svetlana Kuznetsova, Timea Basczinsky, Ana Konjuh and Laura Siegemund will not play next to Serena and Vika.
