Stefan Kozlov is an professional tennis player from United States of Russian descent. He is the son of Russian parents and his father (Andrei) is a tennis coach.

Junior career:

Stefan`s career High Combined ranking was 2 (27/01/2014). He played first ITF Junior tournament when he was 13 years old. First tournament for him was at Costa Rica at Costa Rica Bowl (Grade 3) where he lost his second match, after first win against Lourenco, Rafael Amorim (BRA).

First success for Stefan at ITF Junior level was in Plantation, FL (Grade 4) where he reached the finals (May 2011). In final match, Stefan lost from Luca Corinteli (USA) in three sets.

During 2011, Stefan came in two finals. On International Grass Court Championships in Philadelphia, PA , Stefan lost in final match against Trey Strobel (USA) in two sets (2-6,4-6). At the end of the September, Stefan won his first junior tournament in Waco, TX ( Grade 5), in final match Stefan beats Martin Redlicki (USA) in three sets (7-6,4-6,6-4).

After a few bad results at the beginning of 2012, Stefan manages to make the biggest result for him at Carson, USA (Grade 1), where he reached the final. In great final match, Stefan lost to Mitchell Krueger (USA) 3-6,4-6.

Easter Bowl Championships (USA, Grade B1)  QF - lost from Halebian (USA) 6-2,6-7,2-6

He debuted on Junior Grand Slams tournament at Wimbledon in main draw. He passed the qualifications, first round and he lost in second from Liam Broady (GBR) in three sets (7-6,0-6,4-6).

Junior US Open: R16 - lost from Wayne Montgomery (RSA) 2-6,3-6

2013:

33rd Asuncion Bowl: QF - lost from Johan Sebastien, Tatlot (FRA) 4-6,4-6.

30th Copa Gerdau, Porto Alegre, BRA (Grade A) - At that moment, his biggest success. He won matches against Junior (BRA), Bueno Tapia (CHI), Nunez (CHI), Nakagawa (JPN), Tatlot (FRA) and in final match, he lost from Gianluigi Quinzi (ITA) 4-6,3-6.

He won his first Grade 1 tournament in Carson, USA (April 2013) after great six matches. He beats all American players (Escobedo, Doehler, Rybakov, Papa, Tiafoe and in final match Wiersholm in two sets 6-2,6-3).

At the end of 2013, Stefan played QF in Eddie Herr (Bradenton, FL), and in final at Orange Bowl (Plantation, USA) where he lost his final match against Tiafoe (USA) in three sets (6-7,6-0,3-6).

2014:

This was the last season in junior career for Stefan. Stefan played in final of Australian Open where he lost from Alexander Zverev (GER) in two sets.

Roland Garros Junior French Championships (Grade A): QF - lost to Rublev 5-7,6-3,4-6

The Junior Championships, Wimbledon (Grade A): Great tournament for Stefan. Stefan played five great matches (Matos (BRA), Martinez (ESP), Nakagawa (JPN), Chung (KOR), Tatlot (FRA) and reached the finals, where he lost from Noah Rubin (USA) in three sets in great match (4-6,6-4,3-6).

Orange Bowl, Plantation, USA (Grade A): In final, Stefan played with Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece, Stefan won this match 2-6,6-3,6-2.

Senior career:

Stefan debuted on ITF Futures in USA (Jul 2012). He won his first match against Wiersholm (USA) 0-6,6-3,6-3. He lost in QF to Jung (USA). Stefan made his ATP debut at Newport in July, 2013., where he lost in main draw from Przysiezny (POL). It was a great match for Stefan, but at the end Stefan was defeated in three sets 3-6,7-6,4-6.

During 2014, Stefan had a lot of climbs and falls but at the end of September, Stefan made his biggest success. Stefan reached final at Sacramento Challenger where he lost to Sam Querrey (USA) in two sets (3-6,4-6). Stefan managed to win a couple of high quality players (Harrison, Smyczek).

During the spring of 2015., Stefan played on several futures. He reached two futures finals in Mexico and USA where he lost from Endara (ECU) and King (BAR).

He won his first futures in Los Angeles, CA at the beginning of the 2016. He played five great matches on this tournament, and in final he beats Philip Bester from Canada in three sets (7-6,6-7,6-3). In the first half of 2016., Stefan won two more futures in Sherbrooke, Canada and Little Rock, AR and reached the final of Le Gosier Challenger.

His next challenger final was in Suzhou, China. Stefan won matches against He (CHN), Kim (KOR), Stakhovsky (UKR), Kudryavtsev (RUS). In final, Stefan lost to Yen-Hsun Lu (TPE) 0-6,1-6.

At the end of 2016, Stefan won his first challenger title in Columbus, Ohio.

April:
Stefan played four challenges during April. He lost in R16 at Leon Challenger to Ram (USA), then he lost his first round match in Panama City to Blaz Rola (SLO). In next weeks, Stefan played in San Luis Potosi (MEX) where he losts from another big talent from Serbia, Kecmanovic in two sets and he losts in R16 at Sarasota Challenger from Zeballos (ARG) 1-6,6-7.

May:
Stefan played QF at Savannah Challenger. He beats Libietis (LAT), Ramanathan (IND) and he lost in QF to Sorgi (BRA) 2-6,2-6. He losts his first match at Heilbron Challenger to Tobias Kamke (GER) and losts in qualies at Rolland Garros from Stakhovsky (UKR) 7-6,4-6,4-6.

June:

Last week in Las Vegas, #NextGenATP star Stefan Kozlov returned to the winner`s circle on Sunday, storming back from a set down to claim his second ATP Challenger Tour title. In final, Stefan overcame Liam Broady from Great Britain 3-6,7-5,6-4 in two hours and 19 minutes for his first crown since lifting his maiden trophy in Columbus nearly one year ago. Before final, Stefan won his matches against Aragone (USA), Koepfer (GER), King (USA), Sandgren (USA).



The 19-year-old`s win is the 13th for teenagers this year and 10th among Americans.
